Graphic Design (GRD.AAS)

Associate in Applied Science

Arts and Communication

Orchard Ridge Campus

This program provides students with comprehensive instruction to gain the knowledge and skills to work as a graphic designer, art director or multi-media professional. Instruction begins with core design training of the elements of design such as color, values, balance, proportion, texture and the fundamentals of typography. Students will learn how to use design skills to create “real-world” projects such as trademarks, avatars, promotional materials, digital imagery and advertising campaigns.  Software training is a critical component along with developing cognitive skills to assist in thinking conceptually. The overall goal is to provide students with the education that will assist them in creating a world-class portfolio.
