Successful completion of this option will result in a certificate of achievement in Early Childhood Education Lead Infant and Toddler Teacher. This certificate is designed for individuals who desire to earn credits specifically centered on leading an Infant and Toddler classroom. This certificate provides individuals with the training hours and content that is required for an Infant and Toddler CDA through the Council of Professional Recognition. Additionally this certificate meets State of Michigan Child Care Licensing required Infant and Toddler training for a lead Infant and Toddler teacher. Eligibility for this certificate is dependent upon the student achieving a “C” (2.0) or better in each of the required courses. The student may choose to continue and complete an Associate in Applied Science and/or additional certificates of achievement in the Early Childhood Education department.

Earning this certificate of achievement does not guarantee that the individual will earn an Infant and Toddler CDA. Additionally, the certificate prepares individuals for various positions but does not guarantee specific employment. Required credentials for positions vary between early childhood education programs.
