Certificate of Achievement
Highland Lakes Campus
Successful completion of this option will result in a certificate of achievement in Lead School Age Teacher or School Age Site Supervisor. This certificate is designed for individuals who desire to earn credits specifically centered on leading a School Age classroom. This certificate provides individuals with the training hours and content that is required for a MiYDA through the State of Michigan. Additionally this certificate meets State of Michigan Child Care Licensing required training for School-age teacher and/or Site Supervisor. Eligibility for this certificate is dependent upon the student achieving a “C” (2.0) or better in each of the required courses. The student may choose to continue and complete an Associate in Applied Science and/or additional certificates of achievement in the Early Childhood Education department.
Earning this certificate of achievement does not guarantee that the individual will earn a MiYDA. Additionally, the certificate prepares individuals for various positions but does not guarantee specific employment. Required credentials for positions vary between early childhood education programs. Additionally, for employment individuals must meet pass State of Michigan Child Care Licensing background checks.
