Prerequisite: Placement into ENG 1510.

This course will address many facets of diversity such as ability or disability status, age, body type, ethnicity, experience, family, gender identity, lifestyle, political ideology, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status; illustrating how a person's status in each category influences his or her social interactions, rights, and life chances. The course will address theory and research on diversity as well as the encouragement of behavior that embraces diversity and promotes a more just and peaceful society. BILLABLE CONTACT HOURS: 3
