English/ESL Placement: Placement into ENG 1510.
Pre- or Corequisite: EMS 1400 and BIO 1650 (or BIO 2630 for those taking the BIO 2630 and BIO 2640 sequence.)

This course is designed to provide Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) the knowledge and skills necessary for the students to perform within a limited advanced life support system and/or to continue on to Paramedic courses. Students are expected to attend weekly sessions in the classroom under the direct supervision of a licensed EMS Instructor-Coordinator for lecture, testing, and hands-on applications. The advanced life support skills of intravenous therapy and endotracheal intubation as they relate to emergency field use are introduced. Additionally, this course will enable the student to upgrade and refine their EMT skills. This class also contains an online component. BILLABLE CONTACT HOURS: 6
