Diesel Technology (DHE)

DHE 1104     Fundamentals of Diesel Engines     4 Credit Hours

Equivalent: DHE 1100

English/ESL Placement: Placement into ENG 1060 or higher (or placement into ESL 2510 or higher for students taking the ESL sequence of courses).

This course is designed to provide the students with the theory of operation of basic, two and four stroke cycle engines. Six and eight cylinder engines will be completely dismantled and reassembled according to the manufactures' specifications. Diesel engines will be partially dismantled, assembled and run on test stands. This procedure will enable the students to identify the operation of various engines in current use.
